THAMES EXPO 2014
This well attended event took place on Saturday 17th May. It was a brilliantly sunny day but fog bound and mighty cold in the early morning.
Lorraine RICE, Brenda JOYCE and Sue SLIGHT were kept busy all day responding to questions from members of the public of which there was a steady stream.
One item of interest. A woman asked Brenda about the 28th Māori Battalion in the course of which she said she could remember meeting a veteran at an Auckland RSA many years ago but could not remember his name. “Could it by any possible chance have been Charlie Shelford?” A loud whoop – “Yes, but how do you know who I was talking to all that long time ago?”
The moral of this story is: Just ask MIG!
